Vimeo

Vimeo videos, folders, showcases, comments, captions and tags, plus video metadata updates, folders and pull-URL uploads kept private or unlisted (API 3.4).

Keep a video library in step with CMS, LMS and marketing tools: list and search videos, organise them in folders, pull new videos in from storage and reuse captions and comments.

Validation status

Implemented · fixture tested.

Implementation is checked against provider-shaped fixtures for every action, authentication failures, rate limits, pagination and duplicate safety. Provider sandbox and authorised account validation are recorded separately when credential-backed runs are completed.

Authentication

Vimeo personal access token (or OAuth access token)

Plans and access

Any Vimeo account can create an API app and personal access token. Upload limits, folders and team access depend on the Vimeo plan. The token's scopes decide what Nexra can do: public and private to read, edit to update videos, create for folders, interact to add videos to folders and upload for pull uploads.

Test environment

Vimeo has no sandbox. Use a test Vimeo account or a test folder; uploads count against the account's storage quota.

Rate limits

Vimeo limits requests per app and account and reports X-RateLimit-Limit, X-RateLimit-Remaining and X-RateLimit-Reset. HTTP 429 is retried after Retry-After or the reset time, up to Nexra's maximum wait.

Pagination

page and per_page (up to 100). Responses carry paging.next, which is null on the last page.

Provider events

Vimeo documents webhooks for apps on eligible plans. Nexra event triggers are not yet available; flows run on demand or on a schedule.

Before you build a flow

  • Never deletes videos, folders, showcases, comments or text tracks, and never sets a video's privacy to anybody (public), contacts, users, disable or password. Updates and uploads accept only nobody (only me) or unlisted.
  • Uploads use the documented pull approach: Vimeo downloads the file from a public HTTPS URL valid for at least 24 hours. Binary (tus or form) uploads are not offered.
  • Video analytics (Vimeo's Analytics API) require a Vimeo Enterprise account and account-manager approval, so they are not offered. The play count Vimeo includes on video records is mapped where present.
  • Vimeo has no updatedSince filter. Sort videos by modified_time descending and stop when you reach records you have already seen.
  • Showcases, comments and text tracks are read only. Comment and reply creation, likes, credits and embed settings are not offered.
  • Rate-limit numbers per plan are not restated here; developer.vimeo.com renders them client-side and they could not be verified for this recipe. The X-RateLimit headers are honoured.
  • List responses are read from the documented paging envelope (data array); the published OpenAPI file describes the item schema only.

Developer reference

  1. Create the Vimeo credentials described above with the narrowest permissions your flows need.
  2. In Nexra, open Connect, then Connections, then New connection, choose Vimeo, enter its settings and credentials, and tick only the write actions you need. Connection guide
  3. Test the connection, then use its actions as flow sources and destinations. Flow guide
